IMPORTANT NEWS OR EVENTS
Happy Spring! We all look forward to the blooming flowers, budding trees, flourishing bushes, and reawakening grass returning to vibrant spring colors at the NHSVC. The winter was spent servicing vehicles, cleaning facilities, and removing snow; all while continuing to conduct interment services. We look forward to being out and about and seeing more visitors at the NHSVC.We conducted 54 interments in February and 62 interments in March. Interments this winter were on-par with last winter, though fiscal year-to-date is slightly lower than last fiscal year (July through Jun). The NHSVC continues working with the VA on our next cemetery expansion, which will include adding over 3000 columbarium niches and 3000 in-ground cremation plots. We expect to begin actual work on this expansion in 2024 or 2025. The NHSVC currently has three vacant staff positions: Maintenance Mechanic II (full-time), Program Assistant I (full-time; acts as cemetery representative to coordinate committal services with families, funeral directors, and military honors), and Buildings & Grounds Utility Person (part-time). We are in various stages of the search processes, but if you or someone you know is interested, please contact the cemetery. Due to our shortage in personnel, we continue to only schedule services on the hour from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We will increase the number of services allowed once we fill one of our vacant, full-time positions. We have several upcoming events:Gold Star Spouses Ceremony – Wednesday, April 5th @ 12:00 PM at the Gold Star Memorial on the NHSVC Memorial WalkwayMemorial Walkway & Headstone Clean-up sponsored by Rolling Thunder of NH and Air Force Academy Association of Graduates of NH — Sunday, April 30th @ 10:00 AM.
