Help teach youth our American heritage, promote patriotism, demonstrate the proper care of the U.S. Flag, and ensure that the public will never forget the sacrifices made by America’s soldiers by  educating our communities.  Our Americanism brings attention to Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action, the full accounting of  which is a high priority of the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW.   Our projects and programs share and honor these special veterans.
History

1931–The “Star Spangled Banner Bill” Introduced to Congressional floor. Americanism adopted as the third national continuing service program by the Auxiliary VFW.

Patriotic Instructors

Every Auxiliary President appoints a Patriotic Instructor.  This individual encourages members on the proper salute of the U.S. Flag, as well as the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Do not pause while saying, “One nation under God.” She also takes the time to understand the Auxiliary VFW Ritual and the Federal Flag Code.
